Aquatic venues pose risks which can be very serious and life threatening. Patrons can be put in danger for many reasons and can quickly become distressed in the water and in need of rescue.
This course will teach participants the requirements for basic water rescues. How to recognise a person in difficulty in the water due to swimming ability, accident, injury or illness, decide whether they need rescuing, make a plan for what type of rescue is required, communicate with others for assistance and perform the rescue.
Training will also cover the requirements for reporting the incident and maintaining confidentially.
